It's been an interesting weekend all in all so far. Though I have to admit after having a 4-day holiday a week ago this weekend feels like it's just sorta screamed past. Friday evening I think I mostly just read Phantom (Goodkind). Autumn high jacked my sleep potential that night by saying we were going to be up late cleaning and packing for her trip, getting us coffee and then fell asleep , so I think I read until 2 am or something. Drove her to the airport around 6 am and can back for a nap until about 9:30. Ended up being pretty useless until about 1 pm when I decided I should at least attempt to clean the house up some more. A few buddies came over and we played Left 4 Dead until about 2:30 am. This morning I was supposed to meet Cathy online for a video chat at 9, but she had to bail on me. I still needed to get up anyway, otherwise I wouldn't want to go to bed tonight. So, here I sit now journalling my thoughts and looking forward to a nice calm Sunday; maybe kill a few Zombies and read for a while. What better way could you ask to end a weekend? |

I can't believe how fast this summer is going.. of course, I've probably written than in my blog for the last 5 or 6 years every summer. (Don't try to look, the blogs are scattered all over the place on my server and mostly unconnected to this site.) The last few months for me have been very busy and crazy. Went to work for a startup company who is still short on paying me... the spent most of the month of July traveling. July 4th weekend
Went to my high school reunion which was pretty cool; was a little sad at the number of people who didn't show up. Seems so petty, but then I guess they will all claim that they "already see or talk to the people that they want to" .. pff. Getting a chance to visit with people who WEREN'T your friends in high school is one of the main functions of a reunion for high school isn't it? I mean.. well, maybe just for me it is that way. Shame on those of you who don't go to your reunions because you either think to high or to little of yourself. July 12th weekend We had a trip scheduled to go to Vegas this weekend for a conference for Autumn. We went and it was an ok experience. I think between the heat and the hard time scheduling events we didn't get as much out of it as some people do. All the noise and chaos isn't really my thing anyway. July 26th weekend I spent about 5 days out in MN for my grandfather's funeral and to visit with family and spend time with everyone who was there for that. It was nice to see some who I hadn't seen in lots of years.. some new cousins who were 5 or 6 that I hadn't really seen before. I started working another contract around the end of June at the same time I was still going into work for MIM, working about 15 hours a week which I maintained for most of July. The last week of July they asked me to expand it to 32 hours a week which I've been doing since. I'm using my Friday's to play catch up and try to get some PHP/Flex written for a few different websites and to put some work into other projects I'm trying to maintain. Starting to feel a bit like my grandpa was fond of saying; "I don't believe God intended for us to be this busy in life, but I just don't know what I'd cut out." |

Can't believe it's the first of May already. Between finishing up my class, new job, and all of the rest of normal life including being sick more than normal and woosh, time flies. Everything is going pretty well though. Dig the new job, and can't wait to be done with class. So weird to think of what it will be like working only one normal job and never having to worry about homework and tests again. : ) |

HS reunion is starting to loom on the horizon. Time to get my disgusting self serious about the gym I think. Something interesting I found. http://www.300fitness.com/ I'd like to be able to do the "300" workout (from the site) 25x Pull-up + 50x Deadlift @ 135# + 50x Push-up + 50x Box Jump @ 24” box + 50x Floor Wiper @ 135# (one-count) + 50x KB Clean and Press @ 36# (KB must touch floor between reps) + 25x Pull-up 300 reps total The site reports someone doing this in 18:11. I'd like to do it faster. The site also mentions people doing this while reciting Shakespeare. I'll quote Kazantzakis Tyler Durden. I guess that's sorta me tossing the gauntlet to myself. Hm. Maybe I should find out what a KB Clean is first. More on this later.
