Wanna change the menu icon in KDE 3 (for instance in CentOS 5+) 

 /usr/share/icons/default.kde/48x48/apps/kmenu.png

 That is the location for the 48 px icons. You must replace all the instances of kmenu in all the folders if you want to be consistent.
